Hotel zur Insel Restaurant in Werder upon Havel

Very nice hotel in a top location, just a few minutes from the water, right on the Werder market. In no time you are in Potsdam by car or bus, the train station is about 45 minutes' walk, but no problem either. Parking is possible in the courtyard, but only a limited number of parking spaces are available. Super nice staff, family room large, modern and clean. Breakfast buffet extensive and well resolved even in Corona times. Restaurant also recommended in the evening, very good cuisine, large portions at good prices.

Impeccable hotel, clean rooms, good kitchen, and an extremely nice staff, what more could you want. Will definitely not be here for the last time.

Have been here so many times. It's always nice to stop by here. In the meantime we would like to call ourselves regular guests, because every time we are in Werder we have to stop here. Everything fits here, starting with the family atmosphere, the friendly staff from the housekeeping to the service in the restaurant to the bosses of the island hotel. The rooms are clean and friendly and no matter on which floor (because we have already used different rooms) they are all beautiful. In the warm season you can sit and dine in the garden. But it's also very nice in the restaurant. You can really recommend the food. The homemade salads are delicious and whet your appetite for the main course. And so far it has always been delicious ... The breakfast buffet is also impressive. Everything that comes with it and eggs come in a wide variety of variations. Thumbs up for that!

It was great, delicious food, good ambience, friendly service that had to work out a concept for who served which table where, but it is not a criticism, since otherwise everything else was great, as already mentioned.

Overall, we found the stay to be absolutely fine. It's the little things that tarnish the overall picture. A towel hook that the towel doesn't hold onto - annoying! A shower curtain has no place in a house in this price range and is just gross! In addition, a somewhat dull and - even worse - absolutely congruent breakfast buffet every day: simply no longer up-to-date. The bicycle cellar started but poorly designed (why no metal bracket to connect the bicycles?) And felt not finished either. The room was good, the service was okay - unfortunately you can relax a little on the beautiful area and the top location of the house. What a shame; because there would simply be a lot more in it. And that's usually not a question of money.

Very friendly staff. My room # 24 was spacious, clean and nicely furnished. The only irritating thing was that from the window you could see kitchen staff in the courtyard on a dirty table with a cigarette in their mouths peeling potatoes. But at least it speaks for the fact that the restaurant does not serve convenience, but fresh potatoes. BUT LARGE MANKO: ATTENTION to all animal hair allergy sufferers! A cat regularly walks around in the restaurant and breakfast room. The staff is super nice and takes the cat out if necessary, but an allergy sufferer knows that this will no longer work because the allergens are still spread all over the room. If you don't suffer from allergies, you have a nice and friendly hotel here. Unfortunately, another visit is no longer possible for me.

Perfect for bike tours on the Havel. Absolutely quiet, but still central. Gladly again.

Thanks to the very friendly staff for the wonderful large room with a great view! The bikes were safe in the bike cellar. The breakfast was served due to the corona and left nothing to be desired.

Very nice small, family-run hotel right on the market on the island of Werder (Havel). We were there for a celebration with family and friends. We received great support during the preparation. The food is freshly prepared from regional products and tastes very good. The rooms are clean and functional. The service is very courteous and friendly. Important for those arriving by car: the hotel is located in the middle of Werder's old town. There is hardly a more central place to stay in Werder. As in other old towns, the number of parking spaces is limited. Additional parking spaces are available within walking distance.

The staff at the Hotel zur Insel was very courteous and helpful. We were in Werder for two days and only one night in the hotel; nevertheless we felt at home. Thank you very much!

Not so well suited for older people, as the parking spaces are often insufficient, my husband 77 and I 62, should park the car somewhere in the city, that doesn't work, we left immediately afterwards. The room could easily be used as a sauna, no refrigerator in the room. The breakfast was good, but not again in this hotel.

It was very, very nice again. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The food is tasty and especially the dressing of the salads is uniquely good. The service and the staff are helpful and very friendly. All in all we will definitely be back!

The hotel with restaurant is located in the center of the city, but it is nice and quiet. The service was very friendly and careful. Menu is very varied that every guest should find something. Food came quite quickly and tasted very good? 100% recommendation The hotel made a good impression! I can't judge everything else as I wasn't a guest in the hotel!

Great B&B experience!

Excellent service. Booked several rooms around half a year before checkin without any problems. The rooms are very clean and big enough. The breakfast buffet is quite diverse.
